The curriculum, knowledge, & information that students learn are secondary to the critical habits & skills students will need to become productive citizens who are effective in the workplace. These critical habits are: Effort -- working hard to accomplish a goal; Focus -- centering one’s attention on a task; Initiative -- following through with a plan or task & bringing it to completion; Responsibility -- doing the right thing & taking charge of one’s learning; Cooperation & collaboration -- working as a team to pursue an interest, do an activity, or complete a task; Caring -- showing concern for others & acting in their best interest; Creativity -- showing originality; Problem solving -- looking at real issues, collecting raw data, seeing patterns & relationships, developing a capacity to use that information in a solution, & developing insight from that knowledge.
